Life is full of choices, choices big and small In everything you do, there’s a lesson to recall. As we start, think "safety smart"! Why do parents make rules We know one good reason for this Safety's so important For each of us to practice Safety should never have a day off! Keep your bright eyes open And be on high alert Be aware, be watchful We mean every boy and girl Remember, always play it safe! Through the year, every day, Try to keep your hearing sharp Keeping safe from harm's way Taking care as you embark Safety is free - use it generously! No one knows everything But we'll help to guide you We've been there, done that And we've learned just what to do Life is full of lessons, lessons big and small Lessons to teach us right from wrong, Lessons to help us grow to be strong!
2.
The beds are done, the lunches made Tuna sandwiches are really great! Washed the dishes, mopped the floor When I get back, I'll do my chores! Washer is going, piled high is the laundry, How you manage is always a quandary The grocery list, the bank and the cleaners, I'll make dinner: sauerkraut, beans and wieners! Now that I’m set, better get to work Gotta be on time, I’m the managing clerk Been up since dawn, where has the time gone? I need gas in the car, at least the station’s not far! Phew! That was hard, what a day it's been With the sale going on, what a hectic scene I'll fold the towels, you match the socks I've been thinking about our morning talks Pick up the messages, open the mail, Oh look! Here’s a flyer, it’s a one-day sale! I gotta go now, but I'll be back soon, And we'll eat dinner under a romantic moon! Who said Women’s Lib was a gift and a treasure, Another pair of hands, now that would be a pleasure! No time to think, just time to do, No doubt, we need a holiday too!
3.
Why do grown-ups have to yell and scold? Why do I have to do all that I'm told? I’m a big girl now, and I hate all the rules I’m a big girl now, ‘cause I go to school. I love you Ally, you understand me. I want to do what I want, when I want I think life stinks, it's so unfair I want to eat what I want, mmm, a chocolate éclair. I'm just a kid, and I love to run and play Up and down, in and out, all through the day I don't need anyone to keep an eye on me They're so mean, why can't they let me be? Why do grown-ups have to act like that? Why do I have to be baby-sat? I’m a big girl now, I can make my own bed I’m a big girl now, keep my budgie well-fed. They think I’m a baby that has to be watched Do I really need my mom and dad so much? I’m a big girl now, can ride my bike real far, Swim, and roller blade, and play my guitar. Why do they think they know everything? Why can't they see I'm doing some listening? I'm a big girl now, hear what I have to say I'm a big girl now, yours is not the only way Ally, I love you, you understand me I’ll put on my party clothes and we’ll have some tea I’m a big girl now
4.
I’m stronger than strong, faster than fast And nothing can happen to me! I’m stronger than strong, faster than fast And nothing can happen to me! I can swing to the sky, and fly so high Zoom down the slide, and ride the glide I dangle and sway on the bars all day I twirl on the tire, 'til I’m dizzy and say I’m not afraid of anything I’m not afraid of anything. I’m tougher than tough, rougher than rough And nothing can happen to me! She’s tougher than tough, rougher than rough And nothing can happen to her! I’ll hide in the trees, and spy on the thieves Throw pepper in the breeze and make them sneeze Jump to the ground, tie them all around Hold them for the cops, they’ll be jail bound… I’m not afraid of anything I’m not afraid of anything! I’m smarter than smart, smugger than smug And nothing can happen to me. She's smarter than smart, smugger than smug And nothing can happen to her. I’m a speedy bike rider, and a mountain climber I can jump from a plane, and be a sky diver I can swim like a fish, stay a float like a boat Sail the seven seas, bring a dragon to its knees I’m not afraid of anything I’m not afraid of anything
5.
What’s wrong with me? What can it be? Those things they do and say To make me feel this way It's hard to take It makes my heart break Being different shouldn’t matter When they’re mean you're so much sadder Gotta keep your chin up high Never, ever, let them see you cry. Maybe you're tall (Maybe I’m tall) Maybe they’re small (Maybe they're small) Why can’t they be a little nicer to you? I’d like a pal (I'd like a pal) That sure would be swell Being different shouldn’t matter When they’re mean you're so much sadder Gotta keep your chin up high Never, ever, let them see you cry. Talk on the phone (Talk on the phone) Share ice cream cones (Share ice cream cones) Let me show you what a good friend can do Know me and then Learn who I am, a friend. Being different shouldn’t matter When they’re mean you're so much sadder Gotta keep your chin up high Never, ever, let them see you cry. They’re never, ever, gonna see me cry!
6.
Remember, Ingenue When close to the water, know how to swim You don't want to fall in Would you just imagine, if no one were to see you? You'll be sorry, Ingenue! You could fall in and drown! Your family and friends in town Would be sad with a broken heart Take heed of my remarks Remember these are good rules for the park.
7.
I’m dressed to go to town Put on my evening gown I’m Queen of the park with my flowered crown Always on the go, never slowing down You make so much noise on the playground No one to yell at me, not to make a sound Spinning on a tire like a merry-go-round It is so much fun, just dancing around And in the sandbox I can make a mound Call it a castle, with knights in shining armour, all around I hunt for buried treasure underground You search, and you search, with your trusty blood hound I would be happy, riches would abound If you had a map, it just might be found Then I’ll be able to play in this playground You mean you’ll always be around? I can hang upside down Feet in the sky, hands to the ground Look, your knees, they’re all brown I jump for joy, there’s no one to frown By the end of the day, you might look like a clown Tired I’m not, no need to shut down The sky’s still light, won’t be homeward bound The journey back, will be at sundown The journey back, will be at sundown
8.
Remember, Ingenue! When close to water, know how to swim Be so careful on the jungle gym Be careful when with strangers Sometimes, there are dangers If you're scared, just be smart Remember to listen to your heart You can run, you can say "no", Keep your courage, just say so! It's a good time to start With this afternoon in the park

We’re the mean gang, we come with a bang, A slap, a shot, we can hurt a lot. No need for readin’, no need for writin’ Just take what we want, grabbin’ and fightin’. We got no sense of right, We got no sense of wrong We’ll tell you who we are, Just listen to our song. I’m Dagger, I’m cool, you don’t want to fool With me, got a blade, gonna sway your mind – I’m that kind. Leader of the pack, chief rat-a-tat-tat. Nails is my girl, so don’t touch a curl, You’ll be doin’ time in the underground mine, If you know what I mean… Keep your nose clean I’m Nails, I’m a babe, got an ace of spades, Couldn’t ask for more than Dagger with his blade. I’m a witch, and that’s wicked with a capital W (wooh). Don’t get too close, I’ll use my hooks on you! I’m Stinger, the swinger and I wear my hair In a spike, that’s right. It’s cool and dry, it don’t fly. Can change the colour to whatever my mood. I’m glad, I’m bad, and I know Kung Fu! I’m Horse, the force, you all know of course, That I look so cool, when I let myself rule As I light my butt and breathe in the fire, Blow a smoke ring, you can all admire! We’re the mean gang, we love to use slang, With a pip and apop we can make you drop. We takes what we likes, and we likes what we takes, So be aware of us, make no mistakes. So be aware of us, make no mistakes!
11.
You see, Ingenue Look what we have, what we have here Four young people who cannot see clear Their future looks bad, and that's not so fine They've chosen a life of hate and crime Instead of choosing to work their skills Everyone has strength and goodwill A worthwhile future could very well be If they forget their Easy Street fantasy A little work and effort is what they need To contribute to society and succeed
12.
My job is done here Now let me sleep for a year! Goodbye, Gen! Remember our rules! Bye, Savvy! Thanks for helping! I'll try to listen!
13.
I already miss you, Savvy! Remember, Ingenue When close to the water, know how to swim You don't want to fall in! You've done all you can, share your safety rules I'll remember these lessons, and keep them as tools.
14.
We’ll be friends for real So let’s make a deal To share, to care, to dare to be fair La la la, la la la la I’ve got quite a lot of Whatever we may need I’ll help you and you’ll help me Friends together, how extraordinary! When things are good or bad, The best of friends we’ll be You can depend, depend on me La la la, la la la la Taking turns is how to learn to understand. That hand in hand is how we make a friendship grow. So we’ll know that in our hearts, you’ll always be A part of me, a part of you A part of you, a part of me And we'll say, that’s okay Going for long walks Phoning for long talks Secrets to tell each other well I trust you, and you trust me If you’re down in the dumps, ‘I’ll help you over the slumps You’ll be snug as a bug in a rug With a hug La la la, la la la Whatever it takes For goodness' sake To be friends for real, we have a deal La la la, la la la la You and me, you and me You and me, you and me!
15.
Who do they see? When they look at me? The mirror doesn’t lie I’m different to the eye When they’re afraid It makes my heart break Being different can be sadder Life’s too short to make it matter I tell myself, it's just my style They're always gonna see me smile! I do magic. So many tricks Make children laugh With my yellow giraffe It's fun to see When they all laugh with me Being different can be sadder Life’s too short to make it matter I tell myself, it's just my style They're always gonna see me smile! I’ve been there too And just like you Thought it was mean when they laughed and teased But then I say Be smart and walk away Being different can be sadder Life’s too short to make it matter I tell myself, it's just my style They're always gonna see me smile!
16.
Remember, Ingenue Be careful with strangers Sometimes there are dangers If you're scared, just be smart Remember to listen to your heart

We think it's a thrill, to be wicked, We think it's a thrill, to lie Disguise ourselves, as someone else We'll look you straight in the eyes You'd never know, this was a show Cross my heart, hope to die A two-face being, you'll be seeing Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde So off we go, incognito Pretend we lost our kitten We'll gain her trust, there'll be no fuss Pick your cues and fit in We think it's a thrill, to be wicked, We think it's a thrill, to lie Disguise ourselves, as someone else We'll look you straight in the eyes Set the stage, hide your rage Let's find the right trick Pretend we're lost, we need her help Must be sly and quick Hey little girl, would you mind To help us find our doggie He's so cute, all black and white We'll give you lots of candy We think it's a thrill, to be wicked, We think it's a thrill, to lie Disguise ourselves, as someone else We'll look you straight in the eyes Play upon the innocent And catch them by surprise, It's so much fun to be so mean And to be so full of lies We think it's a thrill, to be wicked, We think it's a thrill, to lie Disguise ourselves, as someone else We'll look you straight in the eyes We think it's a thrill!

When something feels wrong, I’m not silly to be scared Be calm, be strong, Keep myself prepared Listen to my heart Three steps back Run like the wind And yell attack! Kick and fight With all my might My heart beats fast It’s fright and flight Run and scream to where people will hear They will stop and look, and see my fear Pounding in my chest (B Be brave) Sets the rhythm for my best (E Electrify yourself) If they try to grab (S Scream and shout) Won’t wait to be nabbed. (M Move away from a car) Know I can win (A Alert an adult) Scream, kick, and spin (R Run as fast as you can) Try anything to get away (T Try anything to get away) Won’t wait to be prey (Won’t wait to be prey) I have to be street smart Remember all the rules What to do if I’m in trouble Don’t panic stay cool! I need to find my way, My way back home 911 would be great If I only had a phone! I know I should’ve listened Moms and Dads know best I should be in my room Too late for regrets Pounding in my chest (B Be brave) Sets the rhythm for my best (E Electrify yourself) If they try to grab (S Scream and shout) Won’t wait to be nabbed. (M Move away from a car) Know I can win (A Alert an adult) Scream, kick, and spin (R Run as fast as you can) Try anything to get away (T Try anything to get away) Won’t wait to be prey (Won’t wait to be prey) Pounding in my chest (B Be brave) Sets the rhythm for my best (E Electrify yourself) If they try to grab (S Scream and shout) Won’t wait to be nabbed. Life is full of choices, choices big and small In everything you do, there’s a lesson to recall. Dad: Do your best to make the right choice to do the right thing! Ask yourself this question What did I learn from my mistake? Look at choices in your selection Look at chances you might take Ingenue: If you make a mistake, you could have a chance to make it right! Experience makes us wiser, we all learn from our past Parents can teach and be advisors, ask us first not last. Ingenue: Oh, so think before you act! If you choose the wrong direction And end up out of sync, The answers are inside you We have taught you how to think. Dad: No one is perfect, trust your instincts! Though the year, every day, careful steps you must complete Keeping safe from harm's way, aware of obstacles to defeat. Dad: Be aware of your surroundings and the company you keep! With fate, please don’t tinker Play by the rules, use common sense Be an independent thinker Grow to find your own conscience. Life is full of lessons, lessons big and small Lessons to teach us right from wrong, Lessons to help us grow to be strong!
